Meet the cast of True West

Rex Isom Jr

has been an entertainment artist for almost 30 years, including performing comedy improv for over 25 years. He teaches and performs improvisation at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, and has been a troupe member there since 2011. Additionally, Rex has performed in many Twin Cities venues, including Penumbra Theatre, CTC, Brave New Workshop, The Guthrie, and the History Theatre. He’s been in several TV commercials, and has also produced and written for the stage and in video – yes he has a YouTube channel. Rex truly appreciates this 1st opportunity to perform on the Zephyr Theater stage!

David Andrew Macdonald

is pleased to be making his Minnesota debut at the Zephyr Theatre, since his recent move to this great state. Broadway: Skylight; Rocky; Mamma Mia!; Coram Boy; Two Shakespearean Actors. National Tour: An Inspector Calls (Jeff Award nom. best supp. actor – Chicago.) Off-Broadway: The Green Heart, and A Night and her Stars – MTC, Lucifer in Paradise Lost – Theatre Row. He has performed world and American premieres by Theresa Rebeck, Lucinda Coxon, and Emily Mann at The Alley Theatre, Yale Rep, and McCarter Theatre Center, respectively. Other regional credits: The Old Globe, The Wilma, Arena Stage, Studio Theatre, Hartford Stage, Geva Theatre Center, The Cleveland Play House, Cape Playhouse, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Arizona Theatre Company, Syracuse Stage, North Shore Music Theater, and many others. Film and TV credits include: ‘Tommy Battles the Silver Sea Dragon’ (Best Performance – Toronto International SH&F Film Fest. 2018), ‘Elementary’, ‘Person of Interest’, ‘The Blacklist’, ‘The Big C’, ‘The Michael J Fox Show’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘Law and Order SVU’, ‘Sex and the City’, and a number of the now dead Soap Operas including ten years as Prince Edmund Winslow on ‘Guiding Light’. Mr Macdonald is a graduate of The Juilliard School and lives in the Saint Croix Valley with his daughter and wife, actress Monette Magrath.

Peggy O`Connell

Reed Sigmund

is a veteran stage and screen actor/singer in the metro area and is also the Director of Educational Programming for The Zephyr Theatre. Reed has been a part of recent Zephyr Theatre productions including Mama Mia! and School of Rock where he played Dewey Finn. He has been seen onstage at Theatre Latté Da, The Jungle Theater, and most notably, the Children’s Theatre, where he has been an Acting Company Member for the past 21 years.
